Ever since I traveled to Omak, Washington, in 2012 and met a couple of amazing Texas heelers adored by their owner, I have been smitten by this breed. Herding dogs just have that certain special something. Hey good boy, you are looking might fine. Click on the picture to see a larger photo on a separate picture page.
Today I gave my new Fujifilm X-Pro 1 camera a workout. More later on the results. I bought this camera to be able to utilize my Leica M-series lenses that have gone into hibernation since I mostly stopped using my beloved Leica M-6. I’m not convinced yet how the two compare. Still need to examine the results. Here’s a test shot of my best bud, my neighbor, and my occasional confidante, Balloo. He’s the best golden I know. Two years ago, I photographed my friend Val, and her beloved mixed-breed and massive mutt, Hattie, at one of Seattle’s many off-leash dog parks. This was at Magnuson Park. Sometimes, you can take 100 shots, and one or two turn out. Other times, you do better. Here were a couple I liked. Hattie was very fun to photograph. Thanks, Val (and Hattie). More dog pics can be found on my dogs and masters gallery.
